In December 15th, CEFCA personnel visited AMOS headquarters in Liege (Belgium) to attend the Design Review meeting of the Javalambre JAST80 telescope. During this visit they had the opportunity to see in situ, at AMOS shops, the progress in the grinding and polishing processes of the two primary mirrors of the OAJ telescopes.

In the first picture, from left to right, Eric Gabriel (AMOS), Javier Cenarro (CEFCA), David Cristóbal (CEFCA), Toni Marín (CEFCA), Olivier Pirnay (AMOS) and Mariano Moles (CEFCA), in front of the machine where the M1 blank of ZERODUR of the JST250 telescope is being ground. The mirror has a diameter of 2.64 meters with a central hole of approximately 1.01 meter diameter.

In the picture below, CEFCA personnel together with the M1 blank of ZERODUR of the JAST80 telescope. This mirror is already polished although it has not been aluminized yet. It has a diameter of 0.84m. The inner hole, of about 0.3m diameter, has been filled in with a special material to guarantee the uniformity of the polishing at the edges of the hole.
